Things to do in Miami during Labor Day 2020

Are you searching for things to do in Miami during Labor Day? If so, you’ve come to the right place!

Labor Day is one of the best days of the year to be in Miami Florida, here are several things to do in Miami on Labor Day 2020.

A beachin’ good time

If there’s a sea breeze to be had, it’ll be at our best natural resource, the beach. Initially the sandy shores were shutdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, but now they are going strong with a few safety protocols. Our suggestion? Stick to those touristy enclaves with lots of restaurants and shops such as the Strip in Fort Lauderdale or Anglin Square in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. That way, when you’re done beach baking, not only can you take a dip but you can also slip into a restaurant for a refreshing drink, enjoy some ice-cold ice cream and use the restroom (to be fair, COVID-19 has upped the cleanliness of the public restrooms on public beaches). Click here for the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Beach Guide.

Ice, ice baby

You can put that sticky icky day on ice and get some exercise by going to the Rink on the Beach. The 40,000-square-foot venue in Pompano Beach has two ice-skating rinks, a rental store and pro shop, a video-game and sports arcade as well as a snack and dining bar. They also have public skate afternoon and evening sessions with different themes, such as Girls Night Out, Brazil Night and Open Hockey.

  • Rink on the Beach is at 4601 N. Federal Highway, Pompano Beach. 954-943-1437. RinkOnTheBeach.com. Public skating costs $10 and $12. Skate rentals are $5 and lockers are $2.
  • There is also the Pines Ice Arena at 12425 Taft St., Pembroke Pines. 954-704-8700. PinesIce.com. Public skating costs $10. Helmet and skate rentals are $5 each.
